Timeshare Buying – Avoid Scams and Get the Best Deals

Today, I wanted to give you a little summary of what RCI is and how you use it. RCI is an exchange club and what happens is when you own a Timeshare, a fixed week every year or a floating week, which could vary each year, once you have your week and you know when it is, you can either go to use your Timeshare. Or if you know you’re going to want to go there next year or the next time, then, you could join RCI and you could bank your use with RCI. And then, they would give you a credit or space bank for your use. And then, you could take that space bank week and go find another place to go and pay an exchange fee, and use another Timeshare, which is just a great way to go a new place when you would like to go see another place in the US or anywhere in the world really.

So I’ll give you a quick overview. You go to rci.com. First of all, a lot of people love going to the resort directory tab, And if you’re kind of curious on where all these Timeshares are, this is a wonderful interactive map that will give you a real easy way to navigate through and look at all the different Timeshares in all the different places.

For instance, I am curious, “Gosh, is there any Timeshares in the Pacific Northwest?” So you click on USA; and the next level comes up, and I’ll click on the Pacific Coast. Anyway, I’m just going to be, you know, follow through with a little curiosity here and just see what Timeshares are available where. And then, I’ll say, “Wow. Okay, there are some in Washington.” And then, you click on Washington, and it will give you the list of the 28 different resorts that are there; and then, you can kind of navigate through and click on the various icons that will give you more details.

Okay, so that is a great place to start looking for where all the different resorts are. The answer place is another informative place that you might want to check out. For instance how much does RCI cost? Well, you click on “How do I join RCI?”  And they take you right to a “Register for RCI timeshare Weeks Membership”. And when you go down, lower, you will see the different prices to join, and it’s $89 for one year but you will see they keep lowering the price if you commit to more years. So that’s the price to join RCI.

And then, another question is, well, how much does it cost to exchange? In case you’d going to remember what I say today, you go down here, and there are — there is a place that talks about the fees. And when you click here, “how much a transaction fee is?” it will show you $164 to exchange your week for another place in the US and $199 for international.

Now, let’s say, you want to — If you want to do it for a friend, well, you pay that and then, the guess fee that let a friend go is $59.

So that is the overview of RCI.com. There are great little areas, even place that tells you about which places take pets and more and more details.
