What You Need to Know About RCI Timeshares

Hotel Guy:  Hi. I’m Hotel Guy.

RCI Guy:  And I’m the RCI Guy.

Hotel Guy:  RCI timeshares? What’s that? I’ve never heard of you.

RCI Guy:  Well, RCI happens to be the world’s largest Timeshare exchange company, with over 4,500 resorts and about a 100 countries worldwide.

Hotel Guy:  Well, people love to vacation in hotels. Who would want to stay with you [laughs]?

RCI Guy:  3.8 million Timeshare owners that also happened to be RCI members.

Hotel Guy:  I have a lot of more people that want to stay with me. So –

RCI Guy:  Yeah. Well, why is that?

Hotel Guy: Well, for starters, we have great big comfy, king-size beds, okay?

RCI Guy:  I’ve got that, too. Then, I may also have a queen, or twin, and pull-outs for the kids.

Hotel Guy:  Not in the same room?

RCI Guy:  No, of course not. They’re in separate rooms — separate bedrooms.

Hotel Guy:  Well, I have a coffee maker and a mini bar.

RCI Guy:  I have that, too, next to the fridge and the oven in the kitchen.

Hotel Guy:  Well, we have a great big TV that you can see from the bed.

RCI Guy:  Wow! I’ve got that, too, in the master bedroom. But I’ve also got the second one that you can see on the sofa in the living room.

Hotel Guy:  Living room? How big are your hotel rooms?

RCI Guy:  I’m something completely different.

Hotel Guy:  What are you?

RCI Guy:  Why don’t I show you?

Like I was saying, RCI timeshares has over 4,500 affiliated resorts worldwide. Every resort is different, and that’s the cool thing. Whether you want a one bedroom, or two, or even a family villa, there’s probably a resort that’s perfect for you.

You can cook your own meals, and eat inside; or a lot of the resorts have great restaurants, and bars that are right on site. You can choose to stay at the beach, the mountains, downtown, or way out of town. I mean, you can scuba dive or go skiing; kind of like you.

But there is one big difference between you and me. See, everyone that stays with me has a chance to be an owner at the resort. So Hotel Guy, what do you think?

Hotel Guy:  Wow!

RCI Guy:  Want me to tell you how you can get in?

Hotel Guy:  Tell me more about the pools.

RCI Guy:  There’s usually more than one of them –

Hotel Guy:  Aha!

RCI Guy:  — and the rooms. Wow!

Hotel Guy:  You have a kitchen?

RCI Guy:  Oh, yeah!

Timeshare Exchange: Getting Started With RCI

Hi, Jeff Pierce, the Timeshare Expert. Maybe you wanted too get you started with the basics of getting great exchanges. We’re moving to strategies starting the video 3. You may think that you have the basics covered but the five minutes that you take to view these videos could save you from sabotaging your exchange success.

So, here we go with the first five steps you must do to start the exchange process. Step 1 is to decide where you want to go. Now, I know this is obvious but here is the take away. I recommend you really get to know your RCI and II directory. Rather than picking up the date you want to request your exchange, you should go through it before hand and not only star the resorts that you like but also cross out the ones you don’t.

For instance, if you want to exchange your beach resort, some of the resorts listed maybe blocks from the beach rather than ride on, crossing them off now will save you the time to filtrate through them when you want to exchange.

The books are real pretty. So grab a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, and have some fun with it. With over 4200 resorts in the RCI and 2300 in II, this is an important step in learning how to get the best exchanges. You’ll get in your directory next year with many new resorts added. So, keep your old directly for reference.

Step 2 is deciding the exact dates when you want to go. Now, I know you hear-thinking, “Duh, is he kidding? This guy is no expert.” But did you know a study showed that 50% of Timeshare owners have kids in school and will only vacation on school holidays and from mid June through August? Well, those weeks comprise only 25% of the calendar year.

So 50% of the Timeshare owners are competing for 25% of the available weeks. That’s what makes it so hard for you to get in. So remember to plan even more advanced when requesting these times.

Step 3 is to pay your maintenance fees at metro home resort before you contact RCI timeshares or II. Neither company will let you request for an exchange until your maintenance fees are current. Many owners call RCI timeshares or II first and after being on hold for 20 minutes are told you can’t place a request because your maintenance fees aren’t paid. What a waste of time.

Now, here’s a very important tip about paying maintenance fees. You don’t have to, nor should you ever wait until you receive your bill in order to pay them. I’ll explain you why in upcoming video. Most resorts will let you pay it by check or a credit card over the phone. You only need to do step 4, if you own in a point space or floating week Timeshare.

After completing steps 1 through 3 you have an extra step before you could request an exchange. You actually have to call your resort first and instruct them to deposit for bank a week before you can place it on the exchange request. In a later video, I’ll give you a little known strategy about depositing the week that will really increase your chances of getting what you want on exchange.

If you want a fixed week, this step doesn’t apply to you. You only need to make sure your maintenance fees are current; and then, call your exchange company directly. And finally, step 5, call your exchange company putting your request.

In the next video, I’ll be talking about something many timeshare owners do incorrectly that destroys their exchange power. I’ll also be revealing some exchange strategies that very few people know that will guarantee to get you better exchanges.

I’m Jeff Pierce the Timeshare Expert and I’ll see you on the next video.
